If you need a label to describe his style, think John Denver at his very best.”

Seán Laffey, Irish Music Magazine

(December 2016)

Brendan started playing music at 8 years old, playing his first gig on guitar and vocals at the age of 14. By the time he was 16 he had joined a band and was playing hotels, clubs and weddings all around the South East of Ireland. After years gigging in different bands he started performing solo, and focusing on songwriting, playing in venues across Ireland, UK, Europe and the USA. In 1997 his first single 'Heaven' was released, charting at number 24 and staying in the Irish top 50 for a number of weeks. In 2008 Brendan started up a band named Carouse who are still one on Ireland’s leading corporate bands today. In 2009 Brendan toured Australia and New Zealand as part of the Isla Grant band, playing guitar, mandolin and backing vocals. 2010 saw the release of his first self-titled album of original material, recorded by Grammy nominee Thomm Jutz in Nashville, TN. Since then Brendan has been performing, writing and recording, travelling across three continents but all the while with a real sense of what 'Feels Like Home'.

TOURS

Feels Like Home Tour of Ireland

Yes! We’re going to Ireland!

I'm so excited to announce that I’ll be hosting a musical tour of Ireland – “Feels Like Home” - in conjunction with Hammond Tours. And I want you to come too! We'll start in Dublin and slowly make our way to the Sunny South East – my home place. Visiting many exciting cultural highlights, we’ll also step off the beaten track and meet the artists, musicians and characters who make Ireland’s cultural heart beat. Playing music and singing songs along the way, you’ll experience first-hand just what makes Ireland so special.

I’ll bring you to the real Ireland, exploring the hidden gems, and discovering the special places that this beautiful country has to offer. We’ll visit breathtaking landscapes, historic sites, castles and fishing villages during the day, and meet my fellow music makers at great bars and music sessions by night. We’ll share song, folklore and story, as we raise a glass and a guitar as well! This tour will be mighty! And as we say back home, "We'll have the craic"!

As a professional singer songwriter from the South-East corner of Ireland, I’ve spent much of my 36-year music career traveling the highways and byways of Ireland as a working professional musician, building up huge network of contacts and lifelong friendships, as well as stories to share, and even a few tall tales to tell!

Feels Like Home Irish Music Tours are relaxed, flexible and friendly – as any Irish music tour should be – with numbers limited to keep it personal. Care has been taken with every aspect of this unique trip. There will be no long-haul road tripping, staying in mediocre accommodation or crack-of-dawn start times. Instead, all ground transportation is provided by an experienced drivers on luxury coaches, and you’ll stay in beautiful 4-star hotels and family-run gems that I know well and have hand-picked to make sure your trip will be truly unforgettable, all with full breakfasts included for you to enjoy at your leisure.

So why not join me on my unique musical tour of Ireland - where friendships are forged, music is played and you’ll come away saying just how much Ireland “Feels Like Home".

Please get in touch for further details –https://www.hammondtours.com/product/brendan-doherty/ I can’t wait to share more!
